The other is a market development with multiple tenants, permitting, and a build-out that answers to more than one calendar.

The point isn't that James Island has good food. Most of coastal South Carolina can say that. The point is that this particular stretch, Folly Road and the Maybank corridor feeding into it, is where the island's private appetite (dinner, beer, a scoop of ice cream) and its public calendar (concerts, races, town announcements) keep landing on the same few blocks.
